Trevor M. Penning, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology and Director of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, provided an overview of how to start-up and run an academic research laboratory.
Dr. Penning's presentation covered all aspects of running an academic research laboratory including; how to use the start-up package; creative methods for staffing the laboratory; how to generate income; eliminating waste; investment strategies, diversification, and publicity.
