The ITMAT is pleased to announce the Introductory Patient Oriented Research Training (InPORT) Course for the 2013-14 academic year. This year for the first time the course will be offered as a 0.5 credit level course. Tuition benefits may be used. Detailed information about InPORT can be obtained by accessing the web site at

The course is primarily geared towards junior faculty, fellows and post docs who have an interest in learning about the practical aspects involved in undertaking clinical research. Staff members are eligible to enroll if their application is supported by their supervisor. The course covers topics such as:

  • Study Design
  • Biostatistics
  • Budget Development
  • Study Start up
  • Good clinical practices
  • Scientific & Ethical Conduct
  • Career development
  • Research Funding
